Announcing our Partnership with the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health
February 20, 2018
Prevent Child Abuse America® is proud to announce its partnership with the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health® (Alliance), a leading global organization that promotes the social, emotional and relational health of infants, young children and their families by supporting professionals who serve them. The Alliance will work directly with Prevent Child Abuse America’s signature evidence-based home visiting program, Healthy Families America® (HFA), which serves more than 85,000 families annually through 560 affiliates nationwide.
The partnership will further elevate, strengthen and grow the HFA home visiting program nationally and internationally through competency-informed training and reflective practice experiences supporting the HFA workforce. This will allow HFA to have a bigger impact in their efforts to promote healthy child development and improve family outcomes.
The Alliance will recognize HFA as an infant mental health strategic partner in those states whose Infant Mental Health associations have Healthy Families programs and have licensed the use of the Alliance’s Competency Guidelines® (for a list of those states, please visit this page). This strategic partnership will allow HFA program staff to have access to and participate in Infant Mental Health trainings and conferences within qualifying states. Additionally, the partnership will provide:
- The development of a co-branded crosswalk that is aligned with the Competency Guidelines and includes HFA training
- An Endorsement Registry built for HFA endorsees
- The development of training in Reflective Supervision and monthly support for identified groups of HFA supervisory staff
- Technical assistance by the Alliance, as requested
Prevent Child Abuse America is thrilled to partner with the Alliance for the additional support to nearly 4,000 HFA direct service providers and supervisors, allowing providers to continue to provide high-quality, evidence-based home visiting services to families nationwide.
